I was fortunate to spend time with Gary Ranker over an 18 month period. We spoke weekly on numerous business topics. Gary directed my energy in a laser-like manner making my efforts more productive and actions more profitable.
Gary Ranker taught me to seek to understand those with whom I disagreed. In doing so I learned better to understand myself. My perspective on life became more valuable because Gary taught me to look at life from someone else's perspective. He encouraged me to see life through the eyes of the person I was talking to.
I learned that the opinions of others helped me crystalize my own perspective provided I was willing to listen. Gary reminded me that listening is crucial. He taught me to listen until the person that was speaking was finished speaking. He taught me to accept an opinion and not consider it a threat.
Valuable growth comes from opening yourself to the words and opinions of others. I was "successful" and therefore assumed I had all the answers. Yet Gary Ranker encouraged me to engage myself & seek interaction with others. In doing so I have benefited and I believe others have as well.
I viewed my time with Gary Ranker as a wonderful journey, opening my mind and heart to change. The change is internal and Gary helped me realize this. His shared wisdom expanded my mind and enabled me to mentally go places I had only dreamed of going. Gary Ranker made me a more productive and profitable person.
